After a hike in the summer heat, a waterfall like this is a refreshing vista. (Well I guess, it is quite a welcome sight whatever the season is *winks*). The sound of the gushing water is enough to take away one’s weariness and thirst. Cooling your face and neck with the fresh mountain water is like seeing an oasis after days in the desert. It might seem like an exaggeration, but I find waterfalls to have a mesmerizing effect (at least, on me), pulling me into a reverie of water nymphs, babbling water, chattering rocks and whispering trees.

did you know that rushing water charges the particles in the air and puts you in a better mood? :) happy WW!
The sound of water is amazing - so soothing and relaxing.

Just beautiful
Hello Lareine.
I agree, nothing beats the sight of a beautiful waterfall after an arduous hike. I watch a lot of French television shows/movies and I have to say that, to me, France has the most beautiful countryside, and the more I am convinced that I should go there in the near future.
That's very beautiful.
First visit...Love the water falls. Happy WW
Yay!! A waterfall.I am like you. I can spend a lot of time just watching a waterfall or a running creek and daydreaming the day away.. cheers kim
Very true - waterfalls definitely have heeling qualities for a weary traveller.
You are excused for breaching the wordless-ness of this Wednesday.
Thanks for dropping by in my blog and have a super day!
Water falls, I love the sounds made by waterfalls.Never fail to calm me down :)
Lovely. What a refreshing sight in summer. Happy WW.
I fully understand the mesmerizing effect these waterfalls have on you!
I am thinking there might be a soaking pool a bit downstream? Happy WW!
Like you, I find waterfalls mesmerizing too...and relaxing and refreshing... The rythmic sound of the waters always have this relaxing effect on me. They somehow take my mind off some problems, concerns...etc..
I find it difficult to capture the essence of a waterfall, but I can hear it and sense the mist on my skin when looking at this shot. Well done!
I don't know about the welcoming site in winter =P It'll be so cold that you wouldn't have the time to admire the scenery really =)
Hi Lareine !!
Beautiful picture and great words, as always.
I love the sound of falling water and the spray that it produces.
Girish
I am in a summerschool and it's quite warm, so I feel refreshed now, lol !
So beautiful! It seems so relaxing just looking at the picture :)
Nice one... It looks like milk flow.. Superb picture.... Good work lariene.. Meettng after a long time... Keep in touch..
scene like this gives me inner peace!! great shot!
Coming across a beautiful waterfall like this when hiking is an incredible find. But you have to be careful about drinking from it there could be all kinds of bacteria in the water. Always carry a water purifier. I used to hike, lareine.

Nice. I sometimes wonder if you are in the location you write about but in this one there is no question. I like the way it tests you and you respond.
your photo are such magnific:-)
to everybody: thanks a million for taking the time to visit and leave wonderful comments... i've been away from the computer for a while but i'll try to make it up in the coming days...
to nussaibah: i haven't tried raquette (hiking in the snow) but it's becoming a popular winter sport here and they say the pyrénées show itself from another beautiful perspective... as for the cold, maybe we just have to wear the right clothes (because like you, i'm not that fond of cold weather)...
to the teach: we also prefer to drink from bottled water than from the mountain spring... it might be clean, but better safe than sorry :)...
to davidlind:of course i’ve been to the places i’ve posted here… after all, the photos are all mine and I couldn’t have taken them unless I was there, right? *winks*… (and if they weren’t mine, i make it a point to give credit to the website or person who took the photo)...iI use my photos when i think they are appropriate to my entries or I just simply want to talk about the location or the things I saw (hence some of them are not “chronologically” posted)…
as for not always writing how the images make me feel, well, first, there are moments when I couldn’t find the right words to express how I feel; and since I couldn’t find a good if not exact description of my feelings, I prefer that the photos themselves "speak" to the readers and I just add some tidbits of information to give my visitors some idea of where they are taken or anecdotes to add another perspective to the photos…
before I forget, thanks for stopping by :)… it’s always nice to see a familiar “face” here (especially when I’ve been away from the blogosphere for sometime now :)…
hello buddy,
Myself Ranjith,
A Friend as well as Colleague of
Shiva. (www.selerines.blogspot.com)
Just visited your blog and well now inviting you to my blogspot (www.ranjitzone.blogspot.com)and also to be my friend.
HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY ...!
Do Visit my Blog and send your comments..!
I assumed you took the photos of course. I just wondered about the time line of your travels. "We are going here this week..." that sort of thing. I love learning about different places and especially the castles.
to ranjith: i'll drop by your site as soon as possible:)... more power to your blog!
hello david! i apologize for misreading your comment… i see now that you just want to know if i’m in the places I posted in my entries at the time of publishing them… it’s good you pointed it out because without the timeline, it can be confusing ( i seem to be either always on the road or i have wings to be in one place one moment and another in the next --- especially if the next destination is quite far from then previous one)…
and more importantly, landscape changes with the season, displays in museums or castles depends on their conditions/status --- they might be being restored or on loan to other museums… next time, i’ll try to make a note of including the date the photos are taken… thanks a lot for getting my attention on this matter… it’s a sound advice and i should keep that in mind… i really appreciate it :)… and before i forget, i hope you’re enjoying a really sunny summer… here, having a week without rain is like winning the lottery :)… but i’m still hoping it would improve :)…
Friendship Day request :
I bought one new blog with my friend. So i am kindly requesting you to add Two to blog into your blogroll and visit that blog frequently. That blog will contain entertainment features and stuffs. Looking forward for your cooperation even in that blog too. Thank you friend...
