to patrick: if you mean a separate marcro lens, i don't have one... i just use the built-in lens in macro mode... but these bees seem not to mind if yu're hovering over them, so you can reall take a good close-up shot :)...
to tigerfish: i would like to think that 'm beginning to get the knack of getting close-ups hot of bees:)... these creatures (well at least the one in the photo) aren't as flighty and as elusive as other winged creatures... in fact, i think they're too busy minding their own business that they don't notice you, as long as you get out of their way, literally... and this kind of dahlia really have flat petals :)...
