As I was watching this shot, my 8 year old joined me and she commented: Meeting of two insects!

This photo definitely has a WOW factor...great close up shot! I don't know what that other bug is...some sort of wasp perhaps...but I don't need to find out :-)

I really like that shot. That looks like a parasitic wasp. I love the tracery in its wings I would like to decorate a large cup with a pattern like that.. thanks for giving me an idea Lareine....cheers kim

Great shot! Even if caterpillars, or any crawlies, freak me out!

Amazing shot. It almost looks like there will be a fight between the two for the leaf!

That's an amazing photo. What a great shot, and what a great buffet your garden must offer!

That is an amazing shot! And yes I think it is a wasp that lays its eggs on the caterpillar's back. The eggs hatch and the larvae burrow into the caterpillar and feed on it. Gross, I know, but I have observed this cycle in my own garden.

Happy WW and thanks for your visit. The consensus seems to be that my WW shot is some kind of mud dauber nest.

to everybody: thank you very much for dropping by... i wish i have the patience and the skill of nature documentalists... they must discover a lot of interesting things in their line of job...

to will: glad i didn't witness the egg-laying-larva-burrowing scene... just thinking about it gives me gooseflesh *argh*...

to gattina: i'm also beginning to wonder, too... maybe because there's some magnetic force in our garden?! *winks*

to minxy mimi and jam: i did not wait for the next "scene"... so i don't know if they had a friendly chat or a fierce fight :)...
