Bees! I love bees! In photos and on flowers. Not on me.
I love the way these big round fellows disappear inside the flowers. They seem to go for miles!

Gorgeous flower. Love the purple color. I've been obsessed with photographing flowers lately myself. And the bugs (dragonflies, grasshoppers, bees, etc) that seem to surround them.
to katarina: so true!!! i see a lot bees inspecting each flower... with the digitalis's numerous flowers, there must be a lot of nectar in just one "stalk" --- a real paradise for these bees:)
to davidlind: i understand how you feel!... i try to avoid them when i'm gardening... they can fly and buzz all they want as long as they keep a certain distance from me :)
to sandycarlson: yep and they're quick, too... they never seem to tire...
to willthink4wine: you should see our neighbors --- they never seem to stop gardening and their gardens are always in bloom... as for the camera, i'm not so sure... but i take several photos of the same subject and just choose the best one :)

to indrani: it took me a lot of shots (and time) to capture mr. speedy bee in photo:)... but it's worth it :)
to tigerfish: i guess you just need a lot of patience (which i don't have half of the time) and stamina to hold the camera --- no matter how lightweight it is, holding it in a certain position can be tiring... it was a glorious day, so my mood improved my patience *winks* :)
to june: yeah, watching them ceaselessly going from one flower to another is fascinating... it makes you wonder where they get their enthusiasm and energy in doing it...thank you very much for the heart-warming comment... and i love your photos :)... they always bring back childhood memories...

Wow! What a great shot! It's been an almost "bee-less" Summer here so far... and of course, the "fuzzy ones" (the honey bees) are always welcome...
Beautiful picture ! the best love scene I have ever seen, lol ! so cute to make little flowers.
BTW Rosie is one of the cats who has round eyes, really round like marbles, it is so funny because she always looks so surprised !

to will: it can sometimes drive you nuts --- the agony of waiting (ok, i'm a bit exaggerated here) and of your aching arms (because you always have to be in position--- these bees move fast!)... but when you see the result, even just one photo, can make you forget the trouble you went through :)...

to vixen: thanks... i think digitalis is native to europe and some parts of asia and africa... and they usually grow in shaded areas... maybe that's why they escaped your attention... but i believe english gardens almost always have them --- they look romantic against brick-red walls :)...

to tammy: i love th colors, too... especially that of the flowers... it takes them two years to bloom, though... thank you for such a wonderful comment...
to karen: i guess it was my lucky day --- it was sunny (which improved my mood) and not much wind (or else i would really have a hard time getting the flower stalk in the frame)... and the bee, i guess it took pity on me for i've been trying to photograph it in motion for sometime now :)...

to troublex2: this plant likes shady cool areas... so i think it might be a little difficult to grow them in your place... but then, there's no harm in traying :)... as for the hummingbirds, i have no idea, i was just lucky with this bee... what about donning a camouflage and having a good dose of patience?... i know it's over the board, but i always think of that whenever i would try to take photos of birds... their 360 degree vision is giving me a hard time! ...
to tipsandtricks: these flowers love shaded areas, so i guess it would be rare to find one in the tropics... the flowers are really pretty (especially their color) and the inner side of the petals have spots running vertically :)...
